We're working to ensure that planning plays a needed role in COVID-19 recovery efforts. Read more about our work with UrbanFootprint, our speaker series, our 20-minute neighborhood launch, plus more.
CPEX can’t do this work without supporters who share our vision for a better Louisiana. This is why CPEX has created the Visionary Circle, a giving opportunity that is critical to helping communities capitalize on their unique cultural, natural and economic assets. Please consider making a gift to CPEX in honor of Giving Tuesday Now on May 5th; you can do this or learn more about becoming a CPEX member here.
Providing Leadership
CPEX CEO Camille Manning-Broome has been appointed to Governor Edward’s Resilient Louisiana Commission Economic and Community Development Task Force, and CPEX's new Board Member Erin Monroe Wesley has been appointed to Co-Chair the Information Technology & Communications Task Force.
Check out Camille's vision for a comprehensive recovery in her guest column published in The Advocate on May 1, 2020.
CPEX and UrbanFootprint
CPEX and UrbanFootprint are developing a unique partnership to provide in-depth, up-to-the-minute layered data pinpointing areas of greatest need to assist decision makers to roll out aid as efficiently and effectively as possible -- as well as data and analysis to help address both long-standing inequities and second-order economic and social impacts of the COVID-19 crisis.
The 20-Minute Neighborhood
CPEX is engaging residents in “Neighborhood Bingo,” raising awareness of the value of the 20-minute neighborhood where residents are able to access most of their daily needs within a 20-minute walk or bike ride. 20-minute neighborhoods make cities work better for people, in and out of times of disaster.
CPEX COVID-19 Speaker Series
Through the COVID-19 Speaker Series, CPEX is engaging national thought leaders on transit, equitable economic recovery, housing, public health and climate change with Louisiana decision-makers and stakeholders in order to more holistically about our recovery. Join us for the next webinar in May.
Planning for Healthy Communities
CPEX is developing a recovery platform for our local and state leaders focused on healthy community design, planning best practices, and the essential role of planning in a comprehensive recovery that advances long-term goals for Louisiana’s economy, environment and people.
CPEX Membership
Great places don’t just happen. We have to reject “business-as-usual” and embrace a vision for a healthy, equitable, economically sustainable, and climate-friendly future.
