Macey Williams

Macey (Mace) Williams is the Resilience Manager at the Center for Planning Excellence (CPEX), where she applies a multidisciplinary approach to strengthening communities and advancing community-driven planning strategies across Louisiana. Drawing on her expertise, she leads policy and planning initiatives that support a more resilient and vibrant future for Louisianans. 

In her role, she supports CPEX’s broader mission to build the capacity of communities to address the impacts of climate change and population migration by advancing effective planning and governance strategies. Working across local, state, and regional scales, Mace contributes to resilience, adaptation, and climate action planning efforts that help communities anticipate risk, reduce vulnerability, and promote long-term sustainability. Her work includes guiding implementation strategies related to land use, water management, and developing innovative policy recommendations to meet the needs of Louisiana communities; facilitating stakeholder engagement and adaptation education; and fostering collaboration across sectors, agencies and regions. Through this work, she helps center community perspectives in decision-making processes, strengthening adaptive capacity across Louisiana.

Mace holds a Master of Science in Global Change from University College Dublin and Justus Liebig University, where her research explored population migration, environmental change, and governance in receiving communities. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Louisiana State University, fueling her holistic perspective on social and environmental dynamics. She is also a part of the 2025-2026 cohort of the New Orleans Regional Leadership Institute. 

Outside of her professional work, Mace is a passionate aerial and acrobatic artist, using storytelling and performance to forge creative connections with communities.
